How to install FFMPEG and make it available on the Windows PATH

***CORRECTION*** - you do have to add mkvtoolsnix to your path! Instructions are on github, but they're the same as this, just with a different folder.

Tutorial for install FFMPEG in Windows and making it available on the PATH so you can use it from anywhere in a terminal.

This technique will work with any command line executable, not just ffmpeg.
