The neck line is so important! I used to trim my neck line at the jaw line and it took away the potential thickness I was looking for I had a U shaped beard when I look up and it left me with a see through beard . But once I started to have my neck line further down, just enough . my beard was able to get thicker under my chin . I would definitely make sure you trim the neck line low and grow it out before defining it .
