How long can a virus keep attacking me - especially when I've been previously infected? How long do my antibodies survive in my blood? How long does a vaccine defend my immune system against an intruder?
Scientists are grappling with these questions. And they have yet to find out for certain, how long vaccine protection lasts.

This lady is really asking some brilliant questions. Bravo 👏

The word "immune" is probably the most misunderstood word of this year. Being immune doesn't mean you can't get sick. This is the same for all diseases

I am sharing my experiences. I got infected with COVID last year on 26th of July.. got recovered on 12 August.. had breathing issues till end of August and slowly it started to improve .. .. April 6th got infected again.. from 9th April to 20th April I was positive with Pulmonary issues and had lot of weakness and dry mouth and sticky cough this time, but no fever . This time breathing issues lasted till 26th of may. And I am fine since then.

No one talks about T cells and immune system's memory of these viruses. Why do we always need to have a certain number of antibodies?

Natural immunity doesn't make cash!

It's all about being able to go to concerts, cinema, libraries and such. It's not about getting rid of virus or public health.

Got COVID in January. Tested for antibodies this week. They are still “very high” and I’m hopeful my body continues to be my #1 protector!

Fundamental misunderstanding: influenza vaccines are different from year to year, they are not "booster" shots. And immunity is not synonymous to antibody level! The immune system has memory B cells that can reproduce the antibodies years, decades after the initial infection/vaccination.

Well I had corona June last year and I donated blood this may and I still have plenty of anti bodies. Blood bank called me to donate again for anti bodies.

We are not getting out of this mess. Wearing a mask, washing your hands and not touching your face is easy for some, but a herculean task for others.

The presenter is really excellent. Properly composed important and relevant questions directly to the point. No drama or shouting down the microphone. Such a breath of fresh air compared to the usual 'soap opera' news channels we're left with these days. Well done.

one is NEVER IMMUNE, it offers protection.

Can’t understand how anyone can trust pharmaceutical companies that have been proven to be dishonest, , , they admit it in court

Our comprehension of the immune system is the holy grail in the development of vaccines. Naturally acquired immunity will always be superior to the artificial acquired immunity. Always. And the adaptive response will be protective against subsequent many other exposures from the primary infections. For example, I had chickenpox as a child. Several decades have passed; and I’ve never been sick with the chickenpox disease. Why? I’ve memory cells (both B and T cells) that protects against both sever infection and illness. This naturally acquired adaptive response generally remains for life.

Disappointing there’s not a single word here about the well known findings, read ‘real life data’, from the world’s experience with SARS back in 2003.
Somewhere mid 2020 it did become clear,
that people who experienced SARS back then, showed sufficient sustained protection against
SARS-CoV2.
We’re talking 17 years later from that.
Very disappointing.

Who knew they want to make this a yearly jab. No surprise there.

This could have just been summed up as 'its complicated'. Each individual reacts slightly differently to a vaccine and to a virus. Doctors deal with statistics that even out these differences. For some <vaccine 1> will give protection for 20 years, for others 3 months.
What is really fascinating is the antigenic imprinting hypothesis - so natural immunity to future variants could depend on which variant your system encountered first - and perhaps which vaccine?

Yeah, oook right. Probably, maybe, should be, we hope, quite likely. Hit me up when you know it for sure what the vaccine does, for how long and with what kinda potential side effects.
The whole thing is just sketchy.
