Guys not saying this has happened or will. But some ppl say " sad being taken away from their mothers" I mean. What if they have no mother. It's really sad and I really hope they live in the wild with their own kind. But at the same time. These people are caring for them so much so we should not really blame them.

You will rarely see an older monkey living in their "homes" with a family once they have become juveniles or adult.. Occasionally an ex "owner"will show a video of their once cute babies living in a sanctuary. They are the lucky ones. These babies are discarded when they become juveniles or adult.
Once they are older and their commercial and/or novelty value is no longer there and they become actually become 'difficult 'monkeys they are dumped.
Some are simply abandoned along some road somewhere, some are sold to perform in monkey circuses,
Some are relegated to a cage out the back and some are sold to the meat trade.
In the USA it is common to rip a monkeys teeth out so that they do less damage when they bite, and bite they will.
In Asia ripping the teeth out is not as common as cutting their tails off .
All in all it is a very ugly business.

Too adorable! I bought a 9 yr old squirrel monkey and at that age, they are really out of hand. Once they hit breeding age, their whole demeanor changes and they get nasty. I've owned many exotic animals, over the year's. 13 snakes. Everything from a king snake to a Lemmon head reticulated python, that was 22 foot long. I had four Burmese pythons, 3 ball pythons and a couple other snakes. I had a baby Caiman alligator. Three mountain lions. Several parrots, a snapping turtle, a green iguana and two pit bulls and a partridge in a pear tree. Of all of these animals oh, the one I would recommend least as a pet, to anyone, would be a pet monkey. They are very cute and easy to manage when they are babies. They grow up and that's when they become very difficult to handle. Please think twice about owning a pet monkey.
