Mushoku Tensei is an isekai pioneer. It has many of the stereotypical isekai elements except it actually gives them an original twist. The worldbuilding goes far beyond what's needed for the actual plot. Everything is connected, you'll never find a poorly-written or unnecessary character that just appeared out of nowhere. It's a must watch for any isekai enjoyer :)

im pretty sure the reason why episode 0's quality looked worse compared to s1 is because studio bind decided to outsource this ep to a south korean studio because of poor time management. from episode 1 onwards, the quality should be back to normal

The animation is one of the best parts. It's more of a style to me than anything else.

And than you have scenes in the same show with the MC pulling bread apart and its the most amazing thing out there

The things that make this isekai great are the characters and specially the main character. Unlike all other isekai mcs, he isn't overpowered, generic protagonist and has a real personality, good writing and real developments.

I know MT isn’t the first isekai, but I’m pretty sure Mushoku Tensei popularized a lot of the common isekai tropes, isn’t that why they call it the grandfather of isekai? Besides the tropes and what not, the world building and the characters are what make Mushoku Tensei so great, plus the fact that Rudeus isn’t automatically the strongest in the verse, there’s some darker undertones and moments where you can feel his desperation and fear, it’s great.
