I liked how the camera was shaky making it appear as if we are there in the store with them, almost like a documentary. The actors in this commercial talk like they are being interviewed. One of the reasons why this commercial might've been somewhat popular is because of the dialect, and how they say "shipped, " making it sound like a different, more colorful word. It also could've been because the customers were so excited to ship their pants. The commercial targeted families and single adults of different races, ethnicities, and ages.
The theme of this commercial is very tongue-in-cheek. It is literally talking about shipping items for free from KMart, but it sounds like they are talking about something very different. The best example that reinforces this is the first family they "interview." They talk about how excited they are to "ship my pants right here, " both expressing their excitement over free shipping and also using a double entendre to imply they are so excited to be able to ship their pants that they could, literally, mess their pants.

This commercial does two things that are important for a business. It creates buzz about their brand, and because the commercial is witty, it is more memorable and makes it more likely that one will remember to try KMart the next time they need to ship an item.

The internal conflict of this film is that most people would find it to be embarrassing to "ship" their pants in public, while the external conflict of this commercial is that most people not be excited to "ship" ones pants. But the commercial makes "shipping" ones pants seem fun and exciting.

The text of the film alludes to one of the most embarrassing situations possible, then turns that situation around with the excited and ironic claim, "I just shipped my drawers!"

I thought this commercial was hilarious and would rate it an 11/12 because of how much it made me laugh the first time I saw it. I would definitely recommend this to any friends and family that might consider "shipping" their pants. -Ethan
