I really love how this channel is turning into an Indian Linguistics channel. Bringing to people the beauty of the subcontinent in such beautiful ways. The in-depth analysis combining the unique choice of topics and Ashris's unique way of story telling makes this channel very special and close to my heart.

Guessing the language based on hearing ❌
Guessing the language based on costumes, ethnicity, skin colour✅

I got 8 correct out of 15, most of them because of me identifying the costumes and dance forms which depict that area of India.
Even majority of Indians don't know how huge India is in terms of diversity, culture and languages! This video is just great!

I'm so glad you included Tulu. Hope it gets the required recognition as one of the official languages of India. Im a mangalorean konkani speaker, but the konkani one was really difficult to guess

The last one broke my heart 😔. Not just because a possibly 70, 000 year old language went extinct but also because the way she said 'This place is not good for living.' One can only imagine what kind of circumstances led to such presumably folktale lyric being passed onto to her.

It feels sad when a language gets extinct(in this case, Bo language), as with it, we might have also lost the link to the culture and traditions associated which must have existed for centuries.

Great job as always Ashris :]

The last 'Bo' langauge which got extinct really made me sad. A part of humanity which lasted for more than 70000 years just got wiped away. Hope someday it could be revived from any future technology.

Thanks for introducing me to these many languages. Being a South Indian I thought it will be between definitely among South Indian languages but much more pleased to see the level here. Tbh I heard some of the those names for the first time. More power to you in your efforts to keep those languages alive. All the very best.

The whole concept of this video is so amazing... As a Sylheti native speaker from Barak Valley (Assam), I felt so emotional to see my Mother Tongue being recognised.. Usually, a lot of ppl don't know that Sylheti has it's own alphabet system..We have the famous folk songs of Sylhet ( earlier Sri Hatta)
eg "Suhag Chand Bo Dhonir Dhoni Nacho to Dekhi" And the dance "Dhamail" is actually traditional Sylheti Folk Dance..

I think the Bengalis will score the highest in this one😂 As a Bengali, I could easily guess Axomiya, Sylheti, Nagamese, Santhali, Maithili and even Galo to some extent(eventhough I know it's not related to any of the above). Also Gondi became easier to guess, knowing it's definitely not Santhali😂
Also thanks for including Burushaski even though most of it's speakers are in POK, with only few hundred native Burushaski speakers in India✊

The content is informative, well-researched and presented in an engaging manner. It's amazing to see the rich and diverse culture of India being shared with the world in such a beautiful way. Keep up the amazing work, Ashris! #IndiaInPixels

this is not proper Haryanvi she hardly used 20% haryanvi in this geet.
pure haryanvi will go beyond most non native speakers ears becuase hindi words are more twisted and new haryanvi words also used

Only Elders speak pure Haryanvi,
modern day haryanvi has more influcence of hindi
and this woman is using too much hindi.
Even most Popular Haryanvi song 52 gaj ka daman on youtube
doesnt use pure haryanvi to get more reach in India otheriwse words gets more twisted and changes.

Glad that you have put Sylheti in the language... it's an independent language and has its own very different script and also different culture

The last two were absolutely unexpected! Amazing compilation. Nagamese, Axomiya, Irula stole my heart. Galo seemed interesting. Burushaski felt like a different vibe. Most interesting thing is, except a few I knew any of them until now!

The innocence of the Bo speaking lady and the fact that the language is now extinct just broke my heart. I hope we are able to preserve the languages that are still being spoken in our beautiful and culturally diverse country.

I am glad you at least included Bagri in the options for Haryanvi. Proud Bagri speaker here....

Also, that was not a very authentic version of Haryanvi in that song. It felt like Hindi with few haryanvi words sprinkled in

Malayalam is the most difficult language in India in the matter of Speaking, Writing, Listening, reading and it's very hard to pronounce each word properly owing to the fact that Malayalam language is influenced by Sanskrit, Tamil, Arabic as well as Hindi and even Portuguese and English.
