KEEP IT SIMPLE - How To Simplify Your Life

Over 1700 years ago an Ancient Greek philosopher named Epicurus pioneered the theory that we dont a lot of things to be truly satisfied. His idea was that materialistic possessions, pursuits of politics and power, even vacations to luxurious far-off lands were not the key to long-term happiness. In fact, he suggested that they only make us crave more of the same things!

The reasons he gave for this life model, is that these materialistic and hedonistic actions deprive us of time to consider the meaning of life and the world around us. They waste the valuable hours we have in our short lifespan. Not only that, but they can lead to immoral behaviour and dangerous patterns of thinking. Setting an example himself, Epicurus created his own school known as The Garden in Athens. He only consumed basic food and drink such as bread, cheese, water and weak wine. He spent his time discussing different philosophies with his peers and students, shunning the extravagance of other ways of life that were popular at the time.

To give this video context, the word minimalism is often thrown around when it comes to lifestyles that are formed around basic principles and ignore wealth or capitalism. Within minimalist art, architecture, clothing, and even music - there is one common theme. The use of the stripped back simplicity of the method is to achieve a goal. Of course, it can be considered a stylistic choice, but at its core it this there to create something simple for a reason.

Question: A scientist called Antonio Damasio proved that feelings are powerful than ideas. He denied the Descartes's quote I THINK SO THAT I AM. Feeling is in a superior level or more profound than idea wich is a result. How can we transform feelings into ideas? Thank 🙏
