Kate, thank you for allowing me to participate in the 1860s book club discussion. Thank you for organizing the meeting.
I truly appreciate the opportunity to share my interest in the Victorians and their literature with others. The hour and half went by so fast. It was nice to met you virtually in person.I hope there are more opportunities like this in the future.

The Young Pretenders is one of the many books you have recommended, that I have loved! Thank you again and again Kate😊

Thanks, Kate, due to an earlier video where you introduced Moorland Cottage, it became my 'Gateway Gaskell!' It packs such an emotional wallop that once I finished it and caught my breath I began yearning for a sequel (if only...) Having launched Victober with Wives and Daughter and with Ruth and Sylvia waiting on the mantel, it has been a serious challenge not to let Victober turn into Gaskelltober lol!

I’m so glad you rated The Perpetual Curate so high Kate as that’s the next one in the Carlingford Chronicles for Rainey and I to read, I think we will tackle it in January, and I was so glad you enjoyed Can You Forgive Her? which was only my second Trollope at the time and made me entirely fall in love with him. Looking forward to your next fifty books ranking and wondering if there will be a Charlotte Mary Yonge top ten ranking before long? You must be getting close to reading that many of her novels.

I really do need to try Charlotte Mary Yonge. Maybe Countess Kate would be a good entry point.

Finally got round to reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall for Victober. Glad I did it. I've now read a book by each Bronte sister and it is my least liked book. I loved the drama of the middle section of the book and the sophisticated feminist themes. The titular tenant is transgressive for the age and that was a bonus. Her piety seemed to retard any further research into her character alas, but I liked it still. Can't wait for next year.

I loved can you forgive her so much. I love listening to Trollope books. I am struggling with the way we live now though! I think Trollope has amazing female characters that take charge of the story and with twwln I just don’t see or have any female characters worth investing in. I’m half way now and not sure if I should go on with it or not. Thoughts? Thanks love the videos!
