Video shows Denver police fatally shoot man holding marker

Police say Brandon Cole was holding a marker that an officer mistook for a knife when he was fatally shot during a domestic violence call. KUSA's Kelly Reinke reports.

So like I’ve seen a lot of bad cop videos. From what i just saw, this is not one of them. He was literally charging the officer while acting like he had a weapon. What were they supposed to do?

I'm almost certain that after investigating this man's history, that he probably has some mental illness.
Running towards an officer with a concealed "weapon", even though the officer repeatedly tells him to stop moving is just suicide.

Whether it was a marker, knife or crayon is irrelevant. He had an object in his hand, roughly the shape of a knife, was obscuring his hand while posturing aggressively, then proceeded to charge at a police officer. Justified shooting.

Sad he couldn’t get the help he needed but his actions justified her actions. They tried de-escalation and less lethal. She was given no choice. Very scary for the baby behind him so glad they’re ok.

Quit trying to blame the cop for this dangerous situation. What loser mother has no instinct to grab the child and get it away from there. No individual responsibility from anybody whatsoever in this street of mayhem, and the media wants to blame the police.

They didn't show the video from police woman's Camera showing herTelling the Mother with child to get out of the way! This was way before the shooting. The mother chose to continue standing there with her child while two officers had their weapons drawn. I call that selective editing
