Patricia has departed this world after a courageous battle against breast cancer. (18 June 1998 – 1 October 2023) She will be dearly missed by all her family, friends and fans throughout the world.

You older folks, cast yourselves back to the age of 25 - remember the youthful vitality, the hopes and dreams of future possibilities, and we only just begin to understand what this gifted and beautiful woman, who spent her last year in the grip of a cruel disease, was denied. 'So much of life ahead' as the song goes. Thank you, darling Patka, for the gifts you left us during youe tragically short life. RIP princess. We will never forget you. .

I already have her autograph. That's how lucky I am!
Waited for her for one hour behind the theatre where she played a small role in a musical. After that time, I asked a woman who just came from the back door, if Patricia is still there. She looked at me in very suspicious way, turned on her heel and went back. After 10 seconds, she appeared again and Patricia followed her. She looked at me with her huge dark eyes and even tho she frowned at me a bit, I forgot what my goddamn name was. I asked her (took three attempts to pronounce that audibly) for the autograph. All the mistrust immediately disappeared from her face and a heavenly, sincere smile took its place. Like when the heavy dark clouds dissolve and the sun gets to shine again. She signed the program of the theatre play for me with a pen, which I haggled from a cashier in a nearby supermarket, as I of course forgot about that small detail when travelling 150 kms to see her live and get her autograph. I mumbled something like "Thank you, good luck!" and only started breathing again when I sat into the train back to Prague.
So, if you ever get a chance to stand right in front of her, prepare to be staggered...

Thanks to the miracle of modern recording, Miss Janečková will be with us for centuries. We may hope that the miracles of modern medicine will return her to us in vivo and that she will sing for many decades.
