Bit of a different video that I was a little hesitant to post, but hopefully some of you find it helpful to hear me be open about this. More renovation/cat/Scotland videos soon. x

You’re normalizing men addressing mental health issues ❤ you’re making a difference despite all the pain and struggles. Sending love. Hugs.

Not weird at all, George. I've got some terrible childhood abuse issues and you talk more freely about you than I could about me. I salute you for that.

For someone with so much anxiety, you have the most calm and soothing presence online. ❤

You speak so eloquently about your mental health struggles, George. I feel a little weird saying I “enjoyed” that video but it’s always refreshing to hear someone speak so openly.

I’m soon to be 80. Had some issues myself but learned over time that it got better as I made it through each episode knowing “this too shall pass.” No secret cure, just gained more trust in my ability to get through it with each recovery.
I love listening to that soft Scottish voice of yours.

I've viewed a lot of your videos and I can say you are the absolute OPPOSITE of weird. You are sensitive, polite, considerate and well mannered and your speaking voice is like therapy to many of us (I'm sure of that). Just be yourself and look after your own mental & physical needs. Your cat is adorable btw! Pets are the best therapy for humans as their love is unconditional.

Those cookies look delicious. I'm also impressed that you are a cage fighter! To me the stereotype of a cage fighter is an aggressive person who screams all the time, not a calm person who makes yummy cookies and does a really good job at clipping his cat's claws! I really like your videos, I find them very entertaining.

Man, I became really concerned and started to fear the worst when I saw the title and listened to the intro. I'm so glad you're improving and that you're in a healthier state of mind. In the grand scheme of things, you're just some YouTuber who occasionally puts out a 10-minute video about a tiny house or an adorable cat. But somehow, your content has become that which I most look forward to watching. It's simple, tranquil, sincere, and original. Please keep taking good care of yourself and know that your work is quite appreciated around the world.

You're not naive or stupid for believing and trusting your therapist. You were already so vulnerable and I'm so sorry you went through all of that!
Thank you for sharing your story and all the best to you x 💙

Watching you bake and caring for your beautiful cat; taking the time to put those cookies in a proper tin; feeding your plant and listening to your tale …. Utterly mesmerising. I see only that you are living your best life in a lovely cozy home. Thank you for sharing all this xx

George, weird was the last thing on my mind. I actually think you’re one of the coolest you tubers online. Look at ALL the accomplishments you have done and on your own! I watched your home transformation video and I was quite impressed. Most people your age are not even on that stage of owning a home. Anyway! By the way, we all have phobias and we are all weird. However, not everyone is as honest as you. Thank you for sharing. Your cat, by the way, is absolutely gorgeous. I have 10, all rescue and all indoors. :)

I’m in awe of you George. You’re not weird. I can’t imagine anyone criticizing you for anything related to your health. We are all just doing our best to make it through life.

Just know that you bring joy to me and certainly others. You’re inspiring on many levels. Plus you’re just plain adorable.

Keep doing what you love!

Dear George: Please remember: People who judge don't matter and people who matter don't judge! It takes tremendous courage to honestly explain what has happened. I am so happy you found a doctor who you are confident in and who has prescribed appropriate medication for you. I have been in sober recovery for decades and then the food recovery program after that because sugar was my first addiction. So very proud of you and sharing your truth, George ...keep on keeping on! Cheers!

The combo of you baking those cookies, taking care of your cat and speaking with that beautiful calm voice about some deep things was a therapeutic experience ❤ its strange how much suffering we must go through in our lives.. and how we, in the midst of it all, might not realize how special we are

I love this. My husband is a psychologist and he always tells me that it’s insane how a person can look so normal, and even seem like they have a perfect life, and yet behind the scenes there can be so much suffering. He doesn’t share details but he tells me you never would have guessed if you met these patients casually the kind of trauma and pain they’re in. It’s made me more patient with others and appreciate so much when people share their journey. Good luck to you.

You're not weird. I'm a big advocate for sharing mental health issues. Well done for explaining your illness so eloquently.

I just wanted to tell you that I think it was beautiful, courageous and thoughtful to share your situation. You would be surprised how many people face mental health difficulties. As a society, we tend to hide these things. I am sure that many people will be encouraged by your story and in that, it was well worth sharing. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.
