From $1 fibreglass arrows to $50 carbon composite shafts, what's the difference and should you buy more expensive arrows?

My general rule of thumb for any skill I want to learn is to start with decent enough equipment that I'd feel bad for throwing away if I rage quit, and train with that until I'm good enough to recognize where it's deficient. Then I look at upgrading.

My take for Traditional lower-end arrows work just fine. Without sights human error will have a much larger impact on accuracy than arrow quality.

Nothing better than a teacher talking archery. No stone left unturned.

Watching a NuSensei video and a new NuSensei video has been uploaded....Good timing. Glad you uploading more, was getting worried about you and missing the content. Stay safe Nu.

Thank you very much for your honest, down to earth advice. There are people out there who always feel they have to have the most expensive equipment and look down on those who don't have money to throw away. Most of them also tend to not be as experienced as they claim to be..

I use gold tips. And don't mind getting them beat-up. Welcome back Sensei

DO 👏 NOT 👏 BUY 👏 FIBERGLASS 👏 ARROWS 👏! Unless you want very expensive surgery.
Thank you for the video David! Very helpful.

Another great video Nu and sensible advice. I just bought a dozen carbon arrows and they are awesome however I have spent the last six months working on technique and destroying cheapies in the process. Good for the first couple of practice shots too.

This came up in my Google news feed. Thank you for the info, as it confirmed my suspicions. And makes me feel better about firing my dirt cheap brand-swapped import arrows.

I am totally with you! When I have started archery, I bought 24 Easton ACG arrows. These shafts are fine, but they didn’t teach me to shoot better! 😉
Nowadays I use good quality arrows from a local company and I don’t care about the extreme precision.
My long term goal is to throw every arrow to the target with style, no matter which arrow or which bow.
This goal needs lots of practice, but it’s fun! 😁🏹

Excellent content and great to see you again!
Any chance of a similar video on different types and sizes of fletching? I’d love to know the pros & cons of feathers, vanes, etc. And the different lengths of fletching... how does it affect your shot?
Edit: found a short video that answers some of these questions 👍

NU is back! I go cheap for arrows since I also do 3D and go though alot of them.

I think, if like me, you're watching this because you want to learn the difference between expensive and cheaper arrows, then you're most likely at a level where you don't need expensive arrows anyway. And thanks Sensei, You answered a burning question for me.

Thks for shirt out .
Its a good shirt choice .
Since arrows used in pole archery are chosen to fit purpose and the archer .
Shooting at wood "birds" mounted on a metal pole means risk of breaking arrows is pretty high .

So choices are made, compromises
Accepted .
Then arrows are let loose with smiles .

Cheers nu .
