While Eric Johnson played country music as it is supposed to be played, Mike Stern jazzed it up with bluesy taste. No wonder Miles loved him.

Mike Stearn always comes off as a kind gentle soul.

You can see that these two gentlemen have a great deal of respect for one another. I just love the way Mike sits there and watches Eric jam. When appropriate he stands up and provides accompaniment. Eric stands back and admires when it's Mike's turn. I wish I could find a soul brother like that.

Mike's got the "jiggy leg" LOL.

And the rhythm section just locks it up.

Great performance.

I have been to the best concerts since the 70s, i've seen the best guitarists in the world, i saw eric mid 80s, 90s, and recently saw him in denver co., and hes better than ever, his tone, his playing,
He is the best guitarist i have ever seen live, and hes not even my hero, my hero is johny hiland, but i have never seen nobody like eric, , i have never heard a guitar sound so clean at the speed he plays!!

These guys are so good it ridiculous!!! Eric is honking great notes everywhere while flying like an ace pilot and Mike's lead style is so fluid and beautiful ...what an awesome pair combined with a monster bass player and the drummer ... whoever he is ... just amazing!

Chris Maresh is laying it down.  Fell in love with his bass playing in Alien Love Child back in the late 90's.  Eric's secret weapon.

Love how Mike Stern swings. And Eric Johnson is, well, Eric Johnson. A surprisingly great musical pairing.

I love both these guys for different reasons. I swear though, when I saw Mike Stern with his band live, what blew my mind was the fact that he could play a solo all day if he wanted and never play a wrong note!!!

Jeez, is there anything that Eric can't play ? I doubt it. And Mike's great kinda following along and adding his own jazzy chords with chorus overload. I kid, Mike has his own sound, really distinct you would never mistake him for someone else even if you were blind. I played the Manhattan song they did together just before this and my son from across the office asked me if it was Shawn Lane, what a compliment !

Eric is staggering. Have you heard another guitarist who can fire off 3 minutes of seamless musical dialogue, an orgy of invention and musicality like this?

Nice to hear EJ swing and change it up from his usual approach. I get the feeling that these guys would not hesitate to take a bullet for each other.

Eric has historical references and authentic approaches very interesting. Stern is a jazzer playing bebop lines into some blues. They complement each other and make it entertaining
