How fisherman find the world’s biggest clams #geoduck

At Taylor Shellfish Farms in Washington’s Puget Sound, fishermen plant, grow, harvest, and ship about 1 million enormous geoduck each year. Geoducks are the largest and among the most elusive burrowing clam species, making them a highly coveted and expensive delicacy in seafood restaurants around the world.

I played basketball against Evergreen State College and their mascot was the Geoduck. There was a guy in a like a silver taco costume with this huge green shaft protruding straight up. It was the weirdest basketball experience every time we went to play them.

When i lived in Wa. We would go out on the weekend at lo tide and grab geoduck, clams, mussels and crab. A little bit of work would harvest an awesome family meal

As a kid I always remember seeing the Geoduck fisherman at Dillon Beach in Sonoma County California. Still never tried eating one.
