My DIY Stamped Concrete Patio [Complete Project]

Pouring concrete is HARD. No joke. 😁 But this project really kicked our butts.

Our goal was to create a stamped brick pattern on top of a 5’x10’ slab out by my chicken coop. We laid out the forms, rented a big concrete mixer and got to work mixing and pouring the concrete.

Apparently we learn best by making mistakes, because that’s what we did, over and over again. Still, the final stamped patio doesn’t look too bad. And it’s all in preparation for the HUGE concrete path we’re making, for our next video.

Fingers crossed that one turns out better. . .

I love how you say "Ryan was a pro with the concrete right from the start." I do feel his shirt said otherwise, he's a Bro, not a pro lol.
This video had me rolling not even a minute in. love it.

You guys are great! Appreciate you showing the mistakes. You can actually learn more from those, than from watching a perfect job. Nice work!

First of all, LOVE the fact that you didn't edit out your mistakes. That takes integrity. I like to try and do stuff myself and this helped

Just some tips I worked at a concrete factory that produced cattle slats and septic tanks and pre-built walls. you should really get a concrete vibrator as it settles the concrete much better. you should get a scraper for spreading. always spray oil on the scraper. it would work on the pads too. don't forget the rebar but you guys know that. be careful not to make it too watery. That's all the advice I have best of luck guys love your videos.

I think it might also depend on the type of concrete you got. Quick setting concrete, you have to work really fast like you mentioned. But concrete that takes all night to cure, probably would’ve been fine to use!

About the dry concrete. There's this special powder that I think is pretty available, so basically it makes your concrete wayyy more workable without the need of a lot of water, which means stronger concrete but still workable concrete
