He's the reason I started watching football being born in 90. To me he's the OG, Mr football!

By the time he was 25, he had played in 3 consecutive World Cup finals, reached 3 consecutive Copa America finals, won the Best Player and Top Scorer awards in both the World Cup and Copa America, won the FIFA World Player of the Year award three times, won the Ballon d'or twice, was the first player since Diego Maradona to break the world transfer record twice, held the record for most goals scored in World Cup history, remains the youngest player to have won the FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d'or awards, and before his injury, had already scored over 200 goals by the age of 23.

If not for his injuries, there wouldn't be any GOAT debate today.
Even Maradona said that if not for his injuries, R9 would've been the Greatest of all time.
And we never got to see him in his prime.
The fact that he was still a teenager when he had that incredible season with Barcelona is still unbelievable.
Many all time defenders like Maldini and goalkeepers like Buffon consider R9 as the best player they've ever faced.
No wonder he is an idol for Messi.
And his comeback at the World Cup is just inspirational. Because after that serious injury, many believed he will never get to play football. And he proved them all wrong.
After his injury and the comeback, he was just a shadow of what he used to be but still he was one of the best player of his time.
Even with his injury prone career, R9 is still considered one of the greatest players of all time.

Ronaldo Nazario is the best after Pele.
I've never seen a striker so powerful and dangerous. I call him the king of the D or box area and he could score from anywhere in the D or box area. One of my personal favourites.
I still watch his videos until today.
1998 WC Finals is a deep mystery and he was threatened with his life.
This I know deep down in my heart.
Ronaldo Nazario was a 100% complete striker

Thank you for covering this 'alien being—no pun intended.' This guy was so good that God nerfed him to keep him among humans. a few facts; he made football a globalized commercial entity; he forced law changes (in the football transfer/corporate opera); the reason for his injuries were poor management, forced corporate culture, and lack of discipline. Sir Roboson (the legend), RIP, did his best as a father and a mentor to keep him some how safe for a while; otherwise, it would have been a disaster. His quadriceps muscles were so powerful that when he ran, the sheer force literally pulled his knee socket outwards, resulting in both injuries. It was wise old wizard physio that took him to a pure organic way of rehab/recovery—brought him back, and he ended up becoming a 2002 world champ. What a story!

Phenomeno will always be the greatest player to ever play on pitch. There are very great legends like messi, cr7, zidane, dinho, etc, were absolutely dominating on pitch, but r9 is a step above every player on pitch. Messi has everything for a forward, but it doesnt mean he has to be the greatest to ever play on pitch imo. The excitement and unbelievable movements we rejoice a player make them better player on pitch which is purely due to their perfomance and talent they have, which they showed on pitch and the important thing is that the stats wont make a better player on pitch, because for example if a player scores highest goals in a game, then it doesn't mean that he is the greatest player on pitch, because the goals scored by that player may just scores all of them inside the box ( tap ins), which makes him very good finisher and not best player on pitch. The talent, physical, stamina, etc. fenomeno had was unmatched. Thats why Nesta (one of the greatest defenders of all time) said that r9 was on other level compared to messi and cr7. Maldini, nesta, cannavaro, desailly, costacurta, thuram, ferdinand, stam were world class defenders, they even regarded r9 to be toughest player they have ever faced. R9 was already started dominating the world at 18 years of age! Unfortunately, the injuries killed his career that could have been the best player ever, the real goat. He didnt ruin his career, and had lack of discipline, but he was born to play football. No one can be fenomeno. Truely born different. Alien of the sport.
Purely Based on my opinion r9 prime> messi prime.
I even accept saying messi is a greater player than r9, but i wont accept that prime messi better than prime r9. Sorry messi.

I remember being a kid and watching 1998 world cup with my grandfather. I was a Mexico fan, because of my grandfather. But Brazil in 1998 and 2002, man, those teams were so fun to watch. Because of Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.

Bro made us wait but returned with an absolute banger. R9 would've definitely be the clear GOAT if injuries didn't ruin him. Still, awesome video quality. You deserve more views man

At 17-19, R9 was dominating the world. Messi at 17 was nobody at Barcelona, Messi was needing the help of Ronaldinho, Messi was sitting quite and watching R9 play so he could learn!
