I took a day trip to Muir Woods National Monument and Park in Mill Valley, California, which is just north of San Francisco in Marin County. It is an easy day trip from the city and the closet place to see the amazing California Redwoods. It was a glorious day in nature and well worth the visit. There are numerous hiking paths for all levels of ability. Make sure you make parking reservations if you plan to drive. There are shuttles into the park that can save on parking, so check those out too. See the website below for more information:
