Just a quick tip:

If you don't want to be one of the death knights who causes trouble ALL the time because your pet starts attacking new mobs after one mob died and you randomly assigned a new target because you are spamming your skills with a macro including

/cast claw

as advised here and in 100 other guides:

Change all your macros to


This will automatically change it so your ghoul does not start attacking unless you send your pet to it.

Be a good and smart Death Knight, don't randomly pull mobs :)

BTW you can further improve your ghoul management by adding

/petautocaston claw

into all your spamable abilities and

/petautocastoff claw

so your gnaw goes off WAY faster than normally because your claw does not block the global cooldown for your pet. Using this combination your claw autocast will be turned off when you use your gnaw macro and will be turned back on when you hit a spam ability like scourge strike / plaguestrike / death coil.

Thank you for the guide! But i'm curious if hit over the cap is priority (for autoattacks to not miss becasue that's a lot of our dmg) then why do we not gem hit over the cap? Diminishing returns? Those don't start until 400 hit?
