Seeing the way he's looking around the turn at all times... Wish I'd known that when I was trying backies back in the day. The last quarter of the turn is the painful bit if you get it wrong

Went to Lancerlin in Wa back in the 80s still the best days sailing I’ve ever had perfect 25-30knot side shore with a perfectly flat 2kn wide lagoon with a perfect 2m reef break never been so high in my life nor since being a port Phillip sailor I was only used to bay chop nearly crapped myself on the first wave when I looked down felt like I was about 30 feet up then I remembered that the shop that had built my board had only put a single stringer in and hers I was 2k out 30 feet up didn’t want to risk it so as soon as I landed I jumped off
