Thanks for this comparison! I really like the idea of a good DJI competitor, or alternative. But the Mini 2, which I own, just keeps on amazing me. I recently got some ND filters for it and they made a big difference. Flying it was easy to learn and I love how reliable the GPS is. I can bring it home, or to wherever I want to, just looking at the map. The DJI drone is worth an extra 50 bucks, or pounds, no question at all.

So for three times the battery time available on the Mini 2 controller alone, that's got to be worth £50 extra? I mean, what use is a 30 minute battery if the controller runs out after 15 minutes? Seems to me the Mini 2 has it all - let's just hope for updated software/firmware updates in the active track direction.

Not that i would buy the Fimi X8, but curios to know if the Fimi X8 has its own version of Ocusync, and how good it's signal is over distance and built up areas in comparison to the DJI Mini 2? I find it quite ironic that you pay for the pro version to bring it under 250 grams, which is all on the battery, yet the controller battery only blasts 15 mins, which is a massive minus against the Fimi X8, that is like going back ten years. In my humble opinion, its seems like they have brought this to market before completing the development on the software and firmware, because they could, and that brings in the cash earlier, and gets the drone out to compete in the 250g market earlier than their rivals. I don't know if Costco has the deal in other countries but in midwest US the Mini 2 bundle.
Pretty nice shoulder bag, 32gb SD (quality Sandisk), 2 batteries, and the drone/controller for $439.00

One big thing to consider is if you have to get a different phone to use the DJI Fly app - most non DJI apps will work on about any phone and the experience varies accordingly

I would like to pick your brain, do you have any experience with the Mavic Air 2? I'm going to be buying a drone here soon but I'm on the fence about getting the Air 2, mini 2 or just waiting to see if the mini 3 is going to come out soon. I live in the US so the laws are a bit different here but I'm not worried about that. Obviously I want something sooner than later but I'm willing to wait to see if the mini 3 or something else comes out soon. Also it's worth mentioning that at the moment this is purely for fun but I'm considering doing some work with them in the future. Mainly real estate photos and videos. I will of course be getting my part 107, I just haven't pulled the trigger on that yet.

I would HDR video but will see if the mini 3 has it. as it would look better on my 55 inch LG CX HDR tv.
