Hello Kenny.
Reminds me of one time I got a workorder on a boat that said "random electrical fault"
Opened battery box, water halfway up the battery and 15ft wireing in different colours with 7-8 splices😮

Been there too Kenny. From highway tractors to trailers to cars. It just amazes me how some people think “this will do”.

I never liked those type of problems but I took one in told him I give it a go. Fixed him up and he was so thankful he gave me a $75 tip .

That’s actually wire for trailers, I use to work at a trailer manufacturer, wiring code left turn=yellow wire -right turn=green wire-running lights=brown wire

May be easier to just rip out and totally redo.

They’re doing it themselves!! Once an electricians on a site ( I was carpenter ) had a Chevy C10 old thing wouldn’t start and I found couple shorts and we cut stripped and used wire nuts to get it going about midnight in inner city. A year later I saw them same truck asked if they got it fixed right, nope still going wire nuts and all👍

Did you find pasta in the exhaust as well?

Easy peezy. We deal with semi truck drivers and companies and they have tons of lights and wiring. Gotta fix it up right, secure it nice and make sure it doesn't need to be opened again. 😂

All you need is a jar of Ragu and you have a spaghetti dinner😂

Bought a used pu one time and went to wire it up for my boat trailer. It was horrendous back there, took out 6 ft. Of wire before I started. All good, except I was pulled over out of town for no tail lights. But my trailer connector had juice so I ran a jumper to get me home. Now I'm pissed so really start looking, pulled another 9 feet of wire out from under the back end. Every time someone used the truck to pull a trailer they just added their own wire and pig tail, couldn't believe it.

Obviously, if you are going to warranty it, it takes time to check each wire and connection . Otherwise, you fix problem A, they go over RR tracks and another connection goes bad . Maybe the last " technician " was trained at IKEA !

Thought you were under a trailer there for a moment, with the regular quality of trailer wiring.

I see this level of work plenty. Of course when it's done right, I probably don't see it.

I do commercial and residential electrical work and I have been to jobs that we agreed upon and then after an inspection that requires drywall to be taken down and exposes areas that were never talked about buy now needs to be brought up to code because the work extended beyond the original permit and look at the work and regret taking the job because now you have to fix a mess someone else made. Those people shouldn't be doing electrical work.

I can only imagine their mobile home wiring. Multiple wires with multiple plugs into a single outlet.
