Large banks are buying property. That bit is true, but they are buying it with money released by central banks and then going on asset purchase sprees (property). Joe Public doesn't get that money so it is impossible to 'follow the money' as advised here.

Thanks for the information. It's good that these big companies are going to building more houses. But does this mean house prices might dropping next year or will they keep going up further out of reach? Most house prices around where I live are £200.000+ for a 2 bedroom house, it doesn't matter how much of a deposit you have it all comes down to your annual income which makes it almost impossible for someone like me and my girlfriend to buy because our incomes are so low + there's so much back handers going on that the property gets sold before going on the market.

doesn't make sense to me to buy property at this point, the printing of money allows big businesses to buy up the housing stock, with that money printing, it pushes the price of bitcoin up at a far greater rate than the price increase in property. The "slice of the pie" is owning bitcoin.

There's clearly a shortage of houses to buy, more people renting by the year, rich getting richer, house prices continuing to rise. Even with a slump whenever that will be, in the long run it will be nothing more than a dip as history also tells you this.
