I’m Singaporean, and we have kaya toast! Kaya is a jam made from coconut, eggs and sugar. You toast thinly sliced crustless white bread, spread your kaya (be generous), have thick slabs of butter and don’t spread them, made it a sandwich and enjoy! It is typically also eaten with a very runny soft boiled egg cracked and decanted into a small shallow bowl and seasoned with soya sauce and white pepper and dipping the toast into the egg is fantastic. It’s available at almost any kopi thiam (local coffee shop/café).

As a German since birth I can say that I have never heard of Kanzlers Toast

I'm bulgarian and that 100% true princesses are a really common breakfast. I love them personally however sometimes they can be quite greasy(the meat) so it's better to do something to stop that. Thank you for including Bulgaria, I feel like not a lot of people would !

I am thinking that the sardine salad is more likely to be all mixed together with the sardines broken up, more like a chunky sardine paste, in the authentic version. The way you did it looks really delicious too though.

I usually just put butter, if do eat toast. But I prefer bagels.

If you want, you can make a scrambled egg with cheese and put that on there, with a bit of salsa.

Avocado/guac is popular but I don't like avocado. But I think if you use a bit of garlic or siracha that would taste good on the avo toast.

I once put refried beans on my bagel and it was pretty good.

Some tomatos, topped with a little mozz cheese would be yummy.

For something kind of simple you can do butter and sprinkle on some seasonings like garlic, onion, etc.

For sweet options you can do the tried and true cinnamon sugar, jam, honey, etc.

If I have a sweet bagel, like a cinnamon bagel, I'll usually mix cream cheese with syrup or honey to make a nice little sweet snack.

This would be good on cinnamon toast too.

In Australia they butter bread or toast and put little round sprinkles on them, but it does not taste good to me. It just tastes like crunchy buttered bread.

I keep it simple: cream cheese, sliced tomatoes and salt & pepper.

I did an egg salad from a soft boiled egg mixed with mayo, mustard, and dill pickle relish on toast. It was great!

⚠️THE DUTCH ONE IS WRONG

Beschuit met muisjes isn't traditionally eaten for breakfast & "beschuit" isn't toast (see the package she has). These are eaten when a baby is born; blue for boys and pink for girls. They're called "little mice" because they use anise seeds and have 'tails' because of them.

I usually just toss a spice mix on top of the butter
Maybe smear a layer of garlic on the toast before i butter it
Best stuff ever👍

In the Netherlands we usually eat 'beschuit met muisjes' when celebrateing the birth of a baby. If it's a girl they're white and pink and if it's a boy they're white and blue. They are made of anise seed in some sort of sugar coating and indeed pretty good for breakfast.

Cubans don’t really eat white sandwich bread like this. We mostly eat Cuban bread, which is white, light, fluffy, and lard based. It’s a big soft baguette. We would say that butter should be enough, though we prefer margarine- and you should spread the butter on both sides of the piece of loaf that you cut, close it back up, and then press it in a Panini press to make a Cuban tostada. The only thing you need to serve it with is a café con leche, which you can dip it into. Sometimes we also might add a ham croqueta and make a croqueta sandwich. That’s it.

In Haiti we use avocado and if you have some money you can add scrambled eggs with cured red herring

As a German I’ve never heard of a Kanzlertoast
But of a Toast Hawaii, so basically jam, pineapple, ham sausage and cheese

Or just soak the toast in a mix of milk and one egg, cook it in a pan for a few mins, and add cinnamon and sugar
It’s soooo good

I’m American 🇺🇸. Grew up in the Midwest. My mom made us Poached egg on toast. Still love it and now I use avocado smashed on it he toast first with the egg on top. So good!
When we were sick to our tummy’s, mom would make us buttered toast with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top.

From Finland:
Traditionally this is used on Karealian Pasteries but it can be used on toast too. It’s called “egg butter”.

Hard/soft boil any amount of eggs you like, peel and transfer to a bowl, mash them up and let cool. Once cooled put in as much butter as you like until you get a mixture that clumps together well enough, season with salt and pepper to taste. You can add additional seasonings too like fresh herbs, chili powder, paprika powder, chili flakes, or anything you like! Taylor it to your tastes of course!
