Max ends Stranger Things season 4 essentially brain-dead, with Vecna having broken most of her limbs and blinded her. The character is saved from death by Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), but she's certainly not out of the woods just yet. So far, there's been no official word regarding what is to come for Max in Stranger Things season 5, but Sink did appear in a cast photo during a table read for the new episodes, meaning her character will return in some form.

Worries that Max may not survive in season 5 were heightened after Sink was pictured attending the Stranger Things stage play in London. Season 5 is currently filming in Atlanta, and Sink being on another continent during production wasn't a good sign. While this could suggest that Max won't be in as many episodes as the rest of the main Stranger Things cast, it doesn't necessarily mean her fate will be a grim one.

Hopefully the Demogorgons will finally be main antagonists, as they are the central antagonists of the series. Although in my opinion they should have had this role in the second season. They could choose a specific Demogorgon, like the Hawkins one and the Russian one. They should have, in my opinion, made the Miind Flayer remain such without becoming the Spider Monster (which I don't understand why it was never called "Meat Flayer") so as to be the main antagonist only of the third season. And don't start saying that the Mind Flayer and Vecna ​​were the same thing, because they weren't, technically. From what it seemed to me, at least.

Things start to kick up again when Joyce and Murray find a secret message that changes what they previously thought happened during the Battle of Starcourt. At the same time, dark secrets reveal themselves in Hawkins that propels Dustin, Lucas, Max, Nancy, Steve, and Robin into a mystery that threatens to unravel Hawkins.
