Digitrax UT6 & DT602 Throttle Functionality

We recently switch the UPSF over to the updated duplex wireless system currently offered by Digitrax. The includes the UR93 duplex module, the DT602D and UT6D throttles.

In this video, I demonstrate how to join a throttle to the wireless network, acquire and dispatch a single address, consist multiple addresses using the Universal Consisting method commonly used on Digitrax systems, removing an address from an established consist, and operating remote turnouts and controlling track power with the UT6D.

The power button on both throttles works like a rocker switch. It takes a little practice to push just the bottom edge of the button where the arrow is to get the track power menu to come up.

2:09 - Acquiring a locomotive with a DT602
4:02 - Universal Consisting with a DT602
4:58 - Removing a single locomotive from an established consist
5:55 - Joining a UT6D to a new Digitrax network
6:49 - Acquiring a locomotive with a UT6
7:59 - Universal Consisting with a UT6
10:35 - Operating remote turnouts with a UT6
11:14 - Controlling track power & turning off a UT6
11:46 - Closing thoughts

Thanks for this video, I was unaware that you could pull address's without pluging in to the loconet. Great info

Thanks for the tutorial on consisting. I bought a new Digitrax system and was having a hard time following the instructions in the manual. Your video is clear and concise and I understand what is going on. More importantly I can consist my Locos using your instructions. Cheers!

Very nice video, thank you for the info. I did not kno that the UT6 could consist. I may pick one of those up now. I was able to use the 602D for a while when my buddy was on vacation and loved it, but he couldn't figure it out and sold it on me before I could buy it from him.

Most of my club consists of older guys that don't give new products a chance, and if they can't just pick it up and use it, they get frustrated and get rid of it right away. They all decided to send in the 402R throttles in to Digitrax to have them upgraded to Duplex rather than learning the new stuff

Again, thank you for taking the time to explain this, I will be sharing this with all of they guys that have one of these!

Thanks for the Tutorial, Steven... I was afraid of trying the UT6Ds before now, but the Super Nintendo set down with me and began to explain how to Consist last night...he said that I REALLY NEED to watch this Video a few times and that You could demystify things better than he could.

Looking forward to putting what you taught into Practice soon, and Thanks again for Your Support and Patience with us screwballs that are reluctant to make a go of New Technology for fear of Hopelessly Cratering a Running Session!

Hi Steven. I’m so pleased to have discovered your channel as I have been experiencing exactly the issue you described between a brand new DT602DE (Europe) throttle and my older UR92CE receiver. With the two components placed literally two inches apart, the signal on the throttle constantly roams up and down between one and three bars…never a stable full signal as you would expect.

I understand that if I get a UR93CE it will happily co-exist with the UR92CE and the signal issues should disappear. Does that fair and reasonable to you?
Cheers and regards

I would like to know about the issue of the driver using 3 or 4 locomotives from different manufacturers at the same time in this control.
If the engines are different, how to adjust the speed for the locomotives to run together?

thanks for the fast reply, I would like to ask you a question I am having with my DT602D, is there somewhere I can chat?

Using the UR93, you can run how many UT6D's?

Could you please do a video on speed matching locomotives using the DT602D?

Is there any way to override that annoying screen going dark after 30 seconds? It’s really annoying

I thought you had to have the 'DT602D' throttle in order to go wireless?

I really dislike the 602 and am having a very hard time getting used to it. The DT500 was far more intuitive and comfortable in my opinion... it's still my go-to and the 602 sits unused most of the time.
