Radish seed saving. How I saved seeds from my radishes. This video shows many stages of the radish bolting, flowering and going to seed.

Some of my original seed stock came from The Innisfil Seed Library:

I started a radish plant from scraps and I knew it wouldnt produce a radish so I found this video and I had to be patient and I ended up getting some seeds so I could actually grow proper radishes now😄

Do radishes readily cross pollinate with other varieties of Radishes?

Does one have to uproot it to dry, or would it work as well to cut off the lower branches with the most biggest pods, and dry them?

Not only to maximize seed-harvest, but I also want the root to rot before winter, by cutting the main stem.

The rest of the plant I want to dry, but for measuring amount of biochar that can be made from it, so being able to dry pod-branches (and still have viable seeds) would make the process more efficient (imho)

Thanks for uploading a concise and coherent video on this. It was surprisingly hard to come across something that deliberated the basics this well

Just curious, once the plant fell over, did you leave it where it fell or stake them back up? This is the first year I’ve grown radishes and kinda freaked when I saw them all on the ground. Was debating on tying them up on stakes. Wasn’t sure.

Do they dry before pulling up from garden or just wait for red blush and cut and dry? Thankx!

What happens to the radish when you keep it in the soil for too long?

Did you pull the radish out? Or leave it in? So basically like carrots you have to sacrifice 1 or 2 and leave it in the ground to flower and get seeds?
