How to import data from one Google Spreadsheet to another (2016)

This short tutorial will help you import any data from one google spreadsheet to a different one using the ImportRange function. This works as long as you own the source Google Docs or get permission from the owner of another person's documents.

Thanks for the video. Wondering if you can help. I am the owner of both documents but I am getting that "REF" error and then a spinning wheel saying it is "Adding Permissions" but it never does. If I am the owner, who else would I need to get permissions from?

What if you want to just do the import range from Sheet 1 to Sheet 2 in the same Sheets File?

How can you take information on sheet1 and add it to sheet two. when the information is added I want it to move down a row before adding the new information??? You are the best person I have found to explain things. Please help

HELP PLEASE! This is Great but I have a question Once the Sheets are linked is there a way to protect one of the sheets from being changed?
For example I have a master spreadsheet that links to a common spreadsheet but once I have the information in the master I do not want changes. Is this possible?? Thanks for any Help!
