On “My Car Story” we're in Indianapolis IN at The Indianapolis Motor Speedway on 5-27-16.

We’re looking at a 1967 Chevrolet Chevy Camaro SS Convertible 51st Annual Indianapolis 500 Official Pace Car “Festival Car” with a 350 Engine.

Owner Jim Hairston shares he has 6 Pace Cars. He’s had this one since 1991, and shares that a “Festival Car” is one sent to the track in very low production run and is designed to carry a dignitary around the track.

ENJOY!

Thank you so much for Pace Car Histories & Videos: fascinating builds over the years & some special cars..I followed Indy Races & News many years closely: actually only attended 1966 Race( ?, )as Honor Guard ARMY ROTC ( Parade Flags, etc) from Purdue University Cadre: we got INDY tickets and transport. Unfortunately, there was a big wreck, & I remember big spirals of smoke from the Track... kind of sadness going thru us, etc..., !! Anyways, Indy 500 & always been a great spectacle: some of Indy Racing spill into Public Driving, if memory

My father had one of these. Not a festival car. 350 4speed. Standard interior. No side stickers. Bought from City Chevrolet for $3700. He worked down the street from the dealer and traded a 65 Mustang hard top

Nice car. This is a "parade car". These were sold at high volume dealerships, you can tell by the "festival 500" decal. The ORIGINAL pace car had a 396 and 4 speed manual transmission and no festival 500 logo.

so cool, what an amazing collection.   That nice 350 is the perfect engine for that car, my uncle had a 69 Camaro with a 350, got my first speeding ticket in that car!
