Outrage Farming

Outrage farming is at the core of the Murdoch media empires business model. When Peter Dutton was caught out leaving his electorate with a cyclone approaching to dine with a billionaire and hold a little fundraiser, Sky did their best to whip up some false equivalence and outrage. There was an element of this story that was worthy of some outrage though, just not the part of the story Sky was focusing on.

I have Sky News blocked from my YouTube and other online feeds, nothing that can come from them I would ever remotely consider news. Also at 4:13 Dutton says, "people waiting for waters to reside". Does he even understand English? The word is "recede".

I find it odd that Dutton says “it is certainly tracking to be a major event for Queensland” he lives in Queensland. Why wouldn’t he say “it is tracking to be a major event for us”. Be more inclusive?
