(We typically write worship music). The distinction between ‘showing’ and ‘telling’ you brought up in the video was right on point! This difference comes up in all forms of creative writing. The few seconds where you exemplified the difference between Country and Rock/Pop lyrics was a ‘great’ help to me - I have been wrestling with the syntagm and paradigm of lyrics for country songs for a long time but your explanation was VERY useful! To relate to my classical poetic ‘training’, this seems to align, in a strange kind of way, to the difference between the ‘vivid’ voice we find in Ancient Greek and historic sequence for optative.
