A federal judge has struck down a rule requiring diversity visa applicants to obtain passports before they could enter an annual lottery for the U.S. entry. However, the passport rule increased the chances of genuine appointments by cutting down on duplicate or multiple entries.

10,000 diversity visas are being appealed by the Federal government. Diversity visa winners must complete processing within the year it is won. The Biden administration argues that the Immigration and Nationality Act requires the consular office to reject visa applications from individuals who are included in COVID bans. This does not rule out the possibility of a stay.

Thanks very much for the educative support. I am a DV 2021 selectee. I wish to know if will get a chance when the system will be modified in April, even as am not part of the plaintiff. I sent my DS260 form but didn't get the opportunity to be interviewed. Is it also possible for me to become part of the plaintiff at this stage. Actually I had no one to guide me before. I only learned about all these when I started following DV on You Tube and Twitter.

I made entry in 2019 and won . But did not use a passport for the application making me choose exemptions. I am a plantiff .

I made entry in 2019 without a passport number . So I clicked on exemption. Because of that I did not get interview date though was having a low case number.
