Hal Finney's Twitter account active AGAIN after 12 years #shorts

In December 2022, the Twitter account of Hal Finney, a pioneer in Bitcoin, was reactivated after an extended period of inactivity lasting over 12 years. Users began to notice Finney's account following other accounts, raising suspicion that the account may have been compromised.

It didn't take long to dispel these suspicions because shortly afterward, Finney's wife tweeted that she was the one who had accessed Finney's Twitter account.

The tweet, quoted "This is Fran Finney. I am tweeting for Hal to avoid his account being purged by the new policy implemented by Twitter CEO Elon Musk, which will removed more than 1.5 billion inactive accounts to free up new handles.

For those who don't know Hal, he passed away in 2014 from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis complications. Within the Bitcoin community, Hal Finney is regarded as one of the earliest testers to collaborate with Satoshi Nakamoto, the network's anonymous founder.

Many believe Hal Finney was Satoshi or a team member behind this pseudonym, since Satoshi sent him 10 Bitcoin in the first Bitcoin transaction.
