love it when a powerful item has drawbacks, especially when it affects roleplay in a meaningful (and in this case often humorous) way, keep it up your videos are great!

If fools gold has taught me 2 lessons it's
1. Don't add a random animal arm to your arm.
2. Don't trust a cursed monkey paw.

I'm sorry to anyone in the Fool's Gold community who experienced the same trauma I did, this gave me war flashbacks.

Reminded me of a "curse" my DM allowed to cretae once for the laughs: Major Curse of Minor inconveniences; for the next 1d4 years, subject would be afflicted by unlucky events like a drink they fully expected to be sweet to be sour, constantly getting their sleeves ripped with picking out nails, reiteratively stubbing their little toe, and my favorite, getting static shocked each time they picked up any metal utensil.

I love it when magic items grow with you. It scales better and narratively make it more impactful if you lose the item or sacrifice it. Was in a session where someone has dragon wrath weapon trident given to her by her father. She was a sea elf mercy monk. The party got into a avoidable fight with a lich. DM wanted to do make it an impactful so he had the lich cast a high level shatter spell on her trident. The end of the weapon shattered in her hand leaving her with just the shaft. She was heart broken but it made for a cool moment later when she thrust the broken end into him like a crude spear and crit on him. Didn’t kill him but steam burst forth and a yelled out in pain.

I like giving cursed items the ability to gradually erase memories and make the person aware it is doing so.

Or giving the cursed item the property of “it will FEEL heavier the faster it moves while in someone’s possession. And this will go back to normal upon coming to a stop”

I once thought up a magic item that could revive you immediately if you failed your death saves, but revived you with 1 wisdom and no memories. Best part? You as the DM only tell them the first half of the description

So basically the Rainy Devil from Monogatari with added bad luck.

There is actually a monkey's paw item already in the gothic horror trinkets.

The description says, "A preserved monkey's paw, each time a character is reduced to 0 HP whilst holding the monkey's paw they will automatically stabilise, one of the fingers on the paw then folds up, once the paw has become a fist it ceases to work for that person. Each time the paw stabilises someone in this way they get a level of exhaustion."

Honestly you’re the only DM I’ve seen make cursed magic items that are cool and scary

I got an idea, its not a cursed item but its called anomalous mutagen. Its something an alchemist crafts whenever they fail to make a mutagen. It essentially boosts some things and shrinks others but because its anomalous it actually has no control over what it boosts or shrinks.

I like how your cursed items can benefit certain players

An arm with benefits & undesired outcome, I like it.

It's Touma's hand from magical index. Distorts magic and grants bad luck

I once asked my DM for a magic item pretty early on in the campaign. I was by far to underleveled for a magic item, but my DM delivered. He gave me a magical, self-cleaning chamberpot. Helpful in the narrative, but nothing beyond that.
Most of our early magic items were something like that. I loved it.

I love your use of the Wish logo... making me realize it's almost a monkey's paw shopping site.
