Now that you explained how it works it kinda explains why I saw a warlock on logs that had damage being counted from hunter, boomkin, shadowpreist, and warrior abilities. I've also seen several locks using multiple curses on a boss at the same time to increase their damage. It's been happening since the end of phase one. But it's mostly been people out of the US so in order to make my experience better I've just been not including world parses and only looked at the US parses because my rank would jump from like 25th to 3rd

To be completely honest, anytime you are uploading data from your local computer - there will always be the potential for data manipulation. I wouldn't be surprised if the data's been manipulated long before this came to light. You cannot 100% trust the logs that's coming from a player's machine.

Personally don’t care to much about the logs but my raid does use it to help people improve their dps. So hopefully they figure out something because it’s a very useful tool to help raid groups

I don't pay attention to my logs that close but this does suck for those who want to use logs as a benchmark for improvement. It also sucks for those who are trying to get into a guild/raid and are being judged by logs.

When i read the title i actually though people got caught manipulating the LOOT ID"S, some people have done that way back in TBC before by using an addon whenever they go inside the dungeon...forgot the addon name it might've been atlas loot or somthing but whenever u go inside the dungeon and u check atlas loot it would say that a specific item dropped " which it didn't" and people figured out that u could go inside dungeon and reset until they see that whatever items they wanted would be there waiting, idk if this was actually some rumors or if it was true.

I like parsing and always try to do better, but doing 200 more dps than the last lockout, only to see a decrease of 15% on my parsing was frustrating, hope they can fix this soon (one way or another)

Addon should create a hash of the log file on completion, as close to live as possible. Hash should then be required to authenticate the log at upload.

As a healer I'm not sure i'm impacted by this or not, but with how obsessed my guild is with parse values it definitely impacts the guild. Unfortunately, none of em care, and some have been joking around about modded logs.

@sarthe hey man, what is the weak aura you have for you hunter where it shows the the scrolling right to left of the last ability you used? (maybe it wasn't your hunter as you were talking about melee weaving at the time)
