You reviewing CO2 was what made me look into him. And to this day Lisboa is the ONE game that one of my friends has declared as too heavy for them.
Thanks Rahdo for another great run through and review.

"Why are you even listening to this? You know what you're going to get." You know? You're absolutely right. Vital is my favorite designer, and this looks amazing, so I will be all over this one. It still doesn't hurt to hear other opinions though, and seeing the gameplay is definitely wanted, so thank you so much for the coverage.

Vital has always designed his heavy games alone. Only for recent light filler games did he collaborate with other designers. I wish vital will foray into more accessible themes (but still heavy weight) like hotel management, restaurant management etc

I just picked up Weather Machine and ... I think I'm jealous!

I wonder if somebody on BGG can figure out how to combine this with tapestry

I find Lisboa way easier to play as Weather Machine because it has the better thematic connection. I had not so much fun playing WM.

Hope this is more fun than Weather Machine. That one didn’t do it for especially because the link between theme and gameplay felt disconnected too often. I was worried he lost the Midas touch that made me fall in love with e.g. Kanban EV. This looks amazing and I will likely back it.

An automa that plays like a real player sounds like a red flag to me. If a deck of cards will sequence moves as well or nearly as well as a real opponent, then it seems like the game wouldn't offer opportunities for nuanced, 'meaningful' choices.
