My cat is only a little into catnip, and a little into silvervine she likes headbutting the sticks but would not dare be seen as doing something doggy like chewing a stick (I should add that she is a fussy tortie who acts like a prim and proper little old Victorian lady, Even as a kitten!)
I have tried silvervine powder, which is very fine and reminds me of itching powder, it’s the devil and I don’t recommend it. It didn’t do anything more than stain a couple of her unplayed with toys!
I am always after an alternative as whilst I am predominantly housebound I occasionally have to go out and that gives her anxiety. It doesn’t help that she isn’t very good motivated or easily entertained (her favourite toy is a piece of string, a shoelace or the plastic gift ribbon! It’s took several years to get her to play with a ball, and whilst she can do food puzzles she gets bored halfway!
All this said I wouldn’t swap my little bed hog for the world even though she pushes me out of bed most nights!
