OK. I didn't know. I tested today a fulldrive 2 with toggle compcut (clean booster). I love this pedal, even I own a early TS9 black label. Good demo.

Cool video.  Thanks.  I like my FD2 a lot.  Mine's got white knobs.  If you crank up the drive and set the tone back a bit to about 1/2 way, you can get a much creamier tone.  Very musical and warm OD in my very humble opinion.  And if you set the drive back a bit, it works great for a slightly broken up tone for chords, and arpeggios.

I like the TS808 too.  I think I'd use that pedal more as a lead booster to an already overdriven tone.  Much as I use my Boss SD-1.

808 is nice an open and sits nice in the midrange box perfectly - the fd2 is more versatile and has a tougher sound in general - more output more range more gain - still smooth but not the same kind of vintage smooth of the 808 kinda two different sounds really

Hello, yes its a real 80's not all of them had the R copyright by the logo

they dropped the 'R' in the logo in 1980 - they did another 12 months of production on the TS-808, AD-80, FL-301, CS-505 etc

I will take the Fulldrive 2 Mosfet with CompCut, Medium Volume and Low Gain against any vintsge TS808, TS9, or modern boost pedal.

Both are good, the TS808 seems to have more gain and mid-push. The Fulldrive is a little cleaner and flatter sounding, not as exciting to me. When I think of a tone that cuts through the mix and stands with a full band, I think more of the TS808 type of sound. The Fulldrive 2 sounds like it might be a better rhythm guitar pedal for adding grit to chords.

Oh yeah, I have an Analogman modded 1982 Black Label TS9. Still like the Fulldrive 2 with CompCut and moderate Gain better.
