Rahul Gandhi Consoles Vinesh Phogat, Says, 'Hope IOA Will Strongly Challenge Decision' | Olympics

In a big blow to India's chances of winning a Gold medal, Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the women's 50kg wrestling final at the Paris Olympics. The 29-year-old was found ineligible to compete on the second day as she was found 150 gram overweight during the weigh-in on the day of the final.

Unfortunately, Vinesh Phogat will not win any medal at the Paris Olympics, if the disqualification stays. Despite the best efforts from Vinesh Phogat's team on Tuesday night, the wrestler missed the weight on Wednesday.

Let there be an investigation by international experts to find out if the same people who sexually assaulted the Indian women wrestlers are involved in Vinesh Phogat's disqualification...

It was Modi and his supporters who directly and indirectly supported the former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was then the president of the Wrestling Federation of India and accused of sexually assaulting the women wrestlers....

The role of all of them in Vinesh's disqualification should also be investigated....

When women wrestlers did not get justice from PM Modi while fighting on the streets of Delhi, they had left all their medals in front of Modi's residence to protest Modi's inaction...It was a the cruellest inaction by any PM in the Indian Sports history...
