Ajay Banga, an Indian-born business executive, was nominated by US President Joe Biden to lead the 189-member World Bank just one week ago. According to Russia's state-owned news agency TASS, Moscow has now initiated a campaign to prevent Indian-origin Banga from taking charge of World Bank.

But why is Russia opposing an Indian-Amrican? What are Russia’s concerns regarding Ajay Banga’s nomination? Is Russia opposing Banga just because he is a US nominee? And more importantly, can Russia, although is a voting member can actually stop Banga from taking charge?

Watch to find out.

What have these people ever done for India. They even renounced their own citizenship when you can actually work in the US and even get retirement as a permanent resident.

Any Indian born and if elected or to head any organisation is not duty bound to help India. He or She will act according to their national interests whether it is in the UK or US. We should not be too carried away or be too emotional.

Mint is over-emphasizing Banga's Indian connection. Incoherent podcast.
