¹ ORANGE TICKETS ✅
It’s no secret that things are expensive in Denmark. And train tickets are no exception.
However, there is a cheaper option to the regular tickets. It’s called orange tickets and these tickets are the discounted versions of regular train tickets.
The only difference is that you cannot sit in certain sections of the train and your ticket is restricted to a specific time. You cannot buy these tickets through the vending machines at the station.
To buy orange tickets, you can use DSB app or you can purchase them through their web.
² Rejsekort ✅
This card allows you to travel cheaper, based on a credit you put on your card.
It’s simple to use and the card itself will cost you 50DKK.
Then, you charge it up with as much money as you want to and use it similar to other travel cards.
You push it against the terminal in a bus or on a train station, whenever you get on and off from a bus.
You get discounts based on how often you travel and also based on the time of your travel.
If you travel outside of the rush hours, your tickets will cost less.
You will also see your travel journal in the app.

This one is for those of you who are in University and want to get a lot of traveling done, very cheaply.
You can apply to get ungdomskort and you will be then able to travel everywhere inside of your tarif zone.
Denmark is devided into 12 tarrif zones and the price for ungdomskort depends on the number of tarrif zones you need to travel.
Basic Ungdomskort will cost you around 650dkk per month.
This is especially great for those of you, who are taking a combination of train and bus to their university every day.
