Marine Ecology Intro and Patterns in the Marine Environment

This is a voice-narrated PowerPoint lecture recorded for my Florida Gulf Coast University Marine Ecology course. This one is intended to be the first lecture of the course. It covers the basics of what Marine Ecology is, giving some examples of population, community, and ecosystems ecology. Then we introduce the idea of patterns in the marine environment, explaining how and why different species are found in different places. If you're not a student in the course, you might want to skip the first few slides, which talk about rules and grading.
