When I was growing my hair out I realised that every time I tucked my hair behind my ear and slicked it back, it made my face seems slimmer and better for me and I then styled it that way and looked much better ever since

I've learnt the ratio of length between the sides and the top is vital for me personally. Unless you ask specifically most barbers or hairdressers will cut it much shorter on the sides than the top. I dont know why?! Anyway, this makes my face longer (its already long/oblong).

Can you( or have you) do/ done one on blending in clipper lines on thick hair? I always have this issue with my sons hair. And show exactly where on the head to blend different numbers.

I watched a video to help me determine my face shape and subsequent best hairstyle. I had to measure my jawline, face length (chin to hairline), cheek bone to cheek bone for width and my forehead.... Then I was to compare these measurements to each other and match it up to the different type face shapes - square, oval, diamond, heart, round and can't really recall the other, maybe triangle.
Well, mine didn't match any of the supposed types. My ratios were unique, at least as compared to those offered. It just made me feel like a freak of nature.
From my experience, the best hair style for me is keeping it longer overall with layers to increase volume; kind of a natural, messy sort of tasseled look. If I let it grow long on top and it lays flat, I look 10 years older, especially if it is shorter on the sides. If i cut it too short on top with longer sides, my head looks like skyscraper. I've noticed that I have to constantly trim my own hair to keep it just right. The minute one part gets out of proportion to the rest, I look like crap. I need a head transplant.
