i was in love really bad for this one girl. the first and only time i’ve been in love. she was amazing. We would hangout a lot and grew really close as friends. but my love went deeper than that, i would think about her all the time, fantasizing about us together as a couple. would listen to love songs more often and genuinely feeling joy and hopefulness. i would think of any excuse to message her and go out of my way just for her. I’ve never been so open and comfortable with someone, i remember telling my friends about her, saying how i think she likes me and stuff like that. one faithful night, i was feeling confident and i decided i couldn’t handle the weight of her not knowing how i really felt towards her. we were in her driveway one late night just chilling on the sidewalk talking . once we started to wrap things up, i looked straight into her eyes and told her everything. pouring my heart out, and she just stood there in an almost shock like state, and afterwards there was an awkward silence for 10 seconds or so(to me it felt like an eternity) . Sadly, she told me that she didn’t consider me that way, and also had little interest in dating anyone at the time. her reaction was a lot shorter than i thought it would be and was cold as winter. my heart was obliterated. i mean we agreed to keep it mutual and stay friends but we both knew it’d be impossible. We were supposed to hangout 3 days after, but she flaked, didn’t respond to my message til 2 hours after i was supposed to pick her up. i remember laying in my bedroom listening to King Krule that night. i haven’t talked to her since then, and she began posting about wanting a boyfriend and actually getting with someone soon after. The 2 months after i was miserable, nothing made me happy, i had to pretend to be a half assed version of myself in front of my family and coworkers. I didn’t go out w friends or anything. During this time, my car radio didn’t work so i listened to music of a cheap bluetooth speaker in my cupholder. I listened to this album everyday on the way back after work and it made me cry all the time. I think that setting is the perfect way to experience Take Care.
