Surfing: Sunshine & Slabs on the NSW South Coast

After weeks of down time due to lack of swell, a road trip was needed. It wasn't hard to convince a few of the boys to pack up the car late Saturday arvo and head down the coast in search of an uncrowned peak.

It was hard to leave home on Sydney's Northern beaches though -- a post-brekky surf-check revealed that the waves had turned and by lunch the sun had poked through the clouds and the wind had dropped off. However the crowds were a joke, so we hit the highway.

We managed to find some spots down the South Coast for a late session, which turned out to be all-time. Minimal crowds, offshore conditions and plenty of pits. With word of the swell dropping and winds swinging overnight, we knew we had to hit it early Sunday to get the best of it before the winds turned onshore. We managed to have a good session early on in the morning.
