Triangle Properties and Geometry Review – Trigonometry Chapter, Section 1

In preparation for learning the trigonometry that will follow in the next eight lecture videos, we spend a few minutes reviewing some essential information involving triangles. We will introduce a standard labeling convention, review four varieties of triangles including scalene, isosceles, equilateral, and right. We’ll introduce the term altitude, in the context of triangles, and point out some useful results when drawing an altitude in an isosceles or equilateral triangle. A few minutes will be spent reviewing some basic formulas involving triangles, including the Pythagorean Theorem.
