This week, in our very first Interlude, Simon focuses on two portraits of Catherine Deneuve.

Following the French actress’ success in the film “Belle de Jour”, she was depicted as the most beautiful woman in France and appeared almost unapproachable. Helmut Newton’s two portraits of her here, show a different façade.
