As someone who's doing flutter development for 3 years - I couldn't be more happier. If someone is saying that it's bad because it's Google he doesn't know what he's saying because he has never met flutter community - very welcoming, very helpful and respectful.

"I know that's again a little bit biased, but, it *is true*.. so there's that."

"By making Flutter applications first-class citizens in the Linux desktop, it opens the door for the estimated 80, 000 applications currently written in Flutter to be ported with relative ease."

I am a programmer. Normally, I create my own c programs from scratch, and don't call out to external libraries. I tried getting some simple OpenGL examples running, and intended to cryogenically freeze them. In the time since making them, glfw and glew updated, and the examples don't work any more without recompiling from scratch or using patchelf. Not every program can be fixed like this. Packages should keep versions being used, not just the last three.

Hi Mike,
The last two weeks the Direct MP3 Download link has been Broken - just loops back to the same page.

Did you use Microsoft Frontpage to create Frontpage Linux?

sooo since you mentioned it, i've been thinking; one limitation of commercializing FOSS sofware is that anyone can redistribute the software, which hurts how much of one can earn from it.
what would the implication be of a license that limites who can distribute the binary?

appearently such a license would be neither open source nor free by definition, it would be "source available". if we incorporate that into FOSS we get FOSSA software :p

Michael .. i think a RSS feed on the frontpage.com will be a must have if you want people to get back to your site, there is so many sites they will be nice to check that people forget then, but if you get a RSS feed then will see stuff in newsboot and come to your site to read more

Considering you can make a matrix account through riot in a few secounds its pretty dang easy to make an account. My whole family has a group chat using riot and non of them ever asked me for help. The argument that your account should be through some riot/element specific platform seems to go against the whole point of matrix. While I agree that Element isnt the greatest name I feel like treating Riot like it was the worst name of all time is pretty extreme.

There are already multiple LibreOffice enterprise editions: "LibreOffice powered by CIB" from CIB and "Collabora Office" from Collabora at least. I don't get why this is bad however?

TDF can't release a common "enterprise" edition of LibreOffice as that's against the statute of the organisation. The whole "personal edition" is a marketing thing, that will clearly signal that LibreOffice provided from TDF is meant for personal use (because it is funded by individuals), but for enterprise use - look at the list of providers and ask for volume licensing from them.

Most Debian derivatives don’t base off stable; I feel like that’s the mistake MX Linux made. I’m puzzled at why they’re not using testing.
