You don’t get many careers as good as Crosby’s. What a legend

Sid is the reason why i’m a hockey fan. I still remember at 7 accidentally stumbling upon the Stanley Cup finals in 2008. A guy who I admire and look up to just like so many. He’s definitely top 5 in my books and my goat. *Proud member of the Crosby fanboy club since 2008*

I've looked up to and admired Sid my whole life, he is the player that inspired me to play hockey. He was the player I saw as a little kid and thought, "I wanna be like him!" Thank you Crosby for being a huge inspiration and congrats on 500 goals!

It was the loudest I’ve ever heard the building when Crosby scored his 500th; Ear ringing level stuff.
That was the best game to which I’ve ever been. I was so pissed half way through the third until the Pens tied it up. The sheer excitement when Letang scored was palpable. I was sitting next to down flyers fans and to see their smugness turn into wistful heartbreak was priceless (No offense) Bless Saint Sidney

I will point out that the injuries in 2011 wasn't just a concussion. The team doctors misdiagnosed him and completely missed the spinal injury that was causing the concussion symptoms. Those team doctors were all fired and rightfully so.

The only solace I take in Crosby’s eventually retirement is knowing you’ll make a hell of a video about his career

I was at the game last night. A memory I will never forget. Congrats Sid!

The main difference between Crosby and McDavid is that Crosby makes everyone around him better u can put anyone with him and they will produce. U can't do that with McDavid he's more of a solo act which won't win him anything in the nhl but personal awards

It's too bad he has had to deal with injuries for most of his career, might already be in the top 10 of all time scoring leaders. Regardless he and Ovi are the reason why I fell in love with hockey. Watching these two growing up have been the biggest treat ever.

Say what you want about Sidney Crosby, but the man have won EVREYTHING major a player can win (beside an KHL championship).
- 3 Stanley Cup championships.
- 2 Olympic gold medals
- 1 IIHF world championship gold medal
- 1 World Cup gold medal

- 2-time Hart Memorial Trophy (League MVP)
- 2-time Conn Smythe Trophy (Play-off MVP)
- 2-time Art Ross Trophy (Scoring champion)
- 2-time Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy (Goal scoring champion)
- 3-time Ted Lindsay Award (Player's choice)
- 2-time Mark Messier Leadership Award (best leader)
- 8 NHL All-Star games.
- NHL All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award

So yeah, the man have really accomplished all you could ever want. Alexander Ovetchkin is my favorite over Crosby in NHL, but like I said,
you can't take all this away.

Crosby is one of the greatest hockey players in the league! It’s amazing how he’s still dominating the game and he’s 34 years old and he’s not slowing down! Congrats Sid!

I was born in 1999, so for me I basically started watching hockey at the beginning of Crosby's career. It is gonna be very weird to watch hockey one day when Sid hangs up his skates :(

My team isn't the pens, but I still have Sid pictures in my room (golden goal, 2 others in pens jerseys) because he is one of the biggest reasons why I have come to love hockey so much

87 ...As a life long pens fan I have shaken my head countless times with his amazing plays with and without the puck for so many years... A true champion with a work ethic and mind for the game that is second to none...Cheers to "simply the best" all around player in the league for so many years..

Been a Pens fan since 1988. When they won in 2009, then faltered a few years I could not believe that such a talented team was only going to win one cup. Now they have 3. What a great player.

Crosby probably has the widest skill set of any player in the league today. Over an entire season he isn't below average in any important hockey skill. Other players now exceed him in a number of skill areas. But he performs really well in so many ways.

If you take away his injuries during the early 2010s he probably has 3 more scoring titles, mvps, and is likely at 1600 points. Crazy

Been a pens fan since '90, when I was old enough to understand what hockey was (sorta, as much as a 5 yr old can). I just feel so lucky to have been able to see this guy's entire career. He's done so much for the game, so much for our franchise, and so much for our city and every community in it. He'll always be Sid the kid, here. Thanks for the vid.

Side story.. My kid cousin, who is 11 years old now, was diagnosed with cancer when he was 4 years old and to this day talks about how Sid and Fleury would come to the hospital and visit them. They knew every kid's name, would bring little gifts for them, take pictures, etc... just an amazing guy. (Fleury too) He's been doing this since he was drafted and moved here.

I remember I got expelled from high school for skipping classes in January 2009. After watching Crosby come back and beat the wings in the 09 playoffs that spring, it inspired me to be better and to become a leader. I came back the following year and became the school president then graduated at the end of year

I grew up a Calgary fan, but my dad is a Pittsburg fan so I've grown up with a love for the team. I remember being a kid watching him and just not truly recognizing how great of a player he was, but also remembering the concussion issues he had and remembering my dad saying he was probably done. As I've gotten back into hockey in recent years and being old enough to understand the level he plays at, and just what type of player he really is, it is remarkable how he's come back from the injuries and still had 2 more cups in him at least. Get that trio another one before they retire, they've been some of my favorite players to watch over the years.

Iginla may be my favorite player, but Crosby's the Goat. And of course, the Golden goal between them, Watching that live was insane and is my most cherished hockey memory I will probably ever have.

Crosby still is in my eyes the best player in the league. Crosby is currently 11 points behind Ovechkin all time, with 169 less games that is just, unbelievable. You put anyone with him and he still produces, he leads his team like no one else in the league. He has proven time and time again that he is one of the greatest players of all time, and I don't think I will ever see anyone as good as him in in my lifetime.

Sids best moment aside from his Gold medal goal and 3 cups is when he scored in his first game back after the concussion vs the Islanders. Was so electrifying, he wasted no time scoring and it was a beautiful backhander. Very Mario like moment from Sid I'll never forget where I was when he did that. Sid was back for good and right where he left off.
