I actually remember reading about this one in my old Norton AV help file on my 486 Compaq PC. Shame that most of that info seems to be really hard to find nowadays regarding virus behavior. Datafellows' or F Prot's website no longer offers an encyclopedia of viruses thought it was kind of interesting to read about.

no. for hard drives that are infected with a boot sector infector, you can use the command fdisk /mbr to replace the master boot record with a clean copy. however to replace the boot sector on floppy disks you'll need to use specialized tools that allow writing raw data to the floppy disk in order to replace the boot sector manually.
